Location notes
Camden Road is a junction on the North London Line (NLL) that runs between Richmond and Stratford or diverges to the West Coast Main Line.
Railway type and traffic
There is a regular NLL passenger service using dual voltage class 313 units which change from 3rd rail to 25Kv overhead whilst stopped at the station.
The North London Line also acts as the northern cross London artery for freight with trains from East Anglia crossing to reach the West Coast Main Line or Great Western Main Line. Also a few hundred yards to the east a steeply graded curve joining to the East Coast Main Line.

Camden is a busy area with plenty of people passing through the station.
Road directions
Due to the parking restrictions in the area it is strongly advised that you travel to the location by public transport.
The station is located on Bonny Road, just off the A503.

Parking
The local Sainsburys, about 5 minutess walk, has a car park which you could use. Roadside parking is mostly unavailable due to red routes, yellow lines and parking permit restrictions.

Silverlink trains operate the North London Line Between Richmond and North Woolwich:

The station is on a raised section of track passing through this section of London and as such has little, other than the station fences, to cast shadows on passing traffic.
Most traffic that passes through the station will be travelling slowly as there is a permanent speed restriction across the bridge at the east of the platforms. The westbound platform has a disused portion at the west end that is a foot or so lower than the main platform allowing some of the under frame of passing trains to be viewed.
To the west of the station is a small signal box.

From the disused, hence the weeds, section of westbound platform the lower platform height provides a better view of the underside of westbound trains than the normal height platfrom would afford.
