Location notes
A rural location in south Warwickshire to the north of Leamington Spa on the line to Birmingham.
Railway type and traffic
Although a main line (between Warwick Parkway & Hatton stations) the bulk of traffic to be seen is multiple units.
Freight traffic amounts to about 10-12 trains a day in summer daylight hours. The route is used for diversions if the Leamington Spa-Coventry route is closed.
Please bear in mind that most Freightliner traffic will not pass this location as it will take the Coventry line at Leamington.

Environment
The location is an overbridge on a country lane and no problems are envisaged.
Please note, the lane can be very busy as it provides access to Hatton Country World, an ideal location to drop the other half off whilst you do a bit of fotting.

Road directions
From the A46 (Warwick Bypass) take the A4177 towards Solihull. After passing a new housing development on the right you start to gently climb uphill. After passing the pub on the left there is a left hand turning, take this and then your first left (signposted Hatton Country World). This lane will take you across a narrow canal bridge and then onto the railway bridge.

Parking
Park the car at either end of the bridge on the verge.
Public transport
Hatton station is approximately a 5-20 minute walk along the canal from the locations and is well served by trains from Marylebone, Birmingham and Stratford upon Avon.

There is a pub nearby at the top of the hill, otherwise none.

Photographic notes
Both northbound and southbound shots are available at various times of the day, however, the northbound late afternoon/evening shot is the shot of choice. Shadows from the bridge and bushes on the embankment do creep across the line, and by about 20:00 on a summers evening the location is pretty much finished. The location is not much use in Winter as the sun will not get far enough round.
