New Mobile Site
We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
Bishops Itchington is a Warwickshire village between nearby Leamington Spa and Southam.
Railway type and traffic
The line itself is very busy with lots of Chiltern Railways and Virgin Cross Country units scurrying back and forth.
DB Schenker and Freightliner ensure that those interested in freight workings are not left out.
Environment
The location is a quiet over bridge in a rural location.
Be aware that the farmer often moves cattle down this lane, so damage could be caused to your motor.
Road directions
From Southam, take the B4451 out through Depper Bridge. When you see the 'Great Western' pub on the right hand-side, there will be a left hand turn you need which brings you into Bishops Itchington. Turn left down either Fisher Road or Chapel Street, and continue to the bottom of the village via Poplar Road. You will the see Hambridge Road which is the road you need to turn into. Keep following this road. You will cross the line over a bridge, then soon again pass under it. Shortly after this, you will see a farm house on the right. The location is down the lane immediately opposite.

Parking
You can park opposite the farmhouse, or on the bridge itself. If parking on the bridge, please park to one side of the bridge so the farmer can pass if he needs to. You may find it easier to reverse the short distance down the lane, as turning can be difficult if you actually cross the bridge.
Public transport
Stagecoach service 64 operates hourly from Leamington Spa to Bishops Itchington village, from where it would be about a 25-30 minute walk to the location.

Amenities
There are a couple of shops in the village where snacks can be purchased.
Ale fans may want to try the Butchers arms in Fisher Street, or the previously mentioned Great Western.......

Photographic notes
Shots can be taken from both sides of the bridge. Trains coming from the south can be seen a considerable distance away, which should make for good video.
