We have just launched a new mobile version of this site - m.trainspots. This page will use your smart device's GPS to loctate you and guide you to locations that are close to your present location.
Location notes
Located in the Nene Valley Country Park, Lynches Crossing over the River Nene.
Railway type and traffic
Preserved line with a mixture of Steam and Diesels. Operating Days can be found on the NVR Website.
Environment
Located in Nene Country Park, a quiet, peaceful location (footpath) providing lots of opportunities for photograph. Mainly cyclist, horse-riders and tourist use the route.
Road directions
From the A1, northbound:
Pass the NVR and continue on for a mile or so. You will go into a dip and start to climb out again. There will be a bridge at the top of the hill with a junction just under it. Take this left turn and join the A47 in the Peterborough direction.

From the A1, Southbound:
After passing through the village of Whittering, with the RAF base on you right take the next junction, about 2 miles south, to join the A47 in the Peterborough direction.

Follow the A47 until you reach a roundabout about 2 miles from the motorway exit and take the third exit into Castor. Follow the road through the village and once you have almost left the village there is a turning on the right. It is a small junction with a patch of grass in the middle. This is Mill Road and if you drive down here you will reach the Mill Road Bridge Location.

From there, at the southern most abutment, a path starts and leads under Mill Lane bridge, just follow the path all the way to the end, this runs adjacent to the NVR. Lynches Bridge is approximately 10 - 12 minutes walk from Mill Lane.
